Stinging Nettle Seeds
(Urtica dioica) Perennial.
Stinging nettle is renowned for its heath and medicinal properties. It is exceptionally high iron and makes a wonderful tea and nettle soup and pesto are Spring favourites in our house!
Along with Comfrey, Stinging Nettle makes a nutrient dense addition to compost tea.
A wild patch of nettles is treat to have. One of my (Hil) favourite late Summer pass times is to watch Stinging Nettle release its pollen. It is AMAZING! The pollen is released in small puffs. Just mesmerizing!
Warning: As the name suggests, Stinging Nettle stings the skin! Once the plants are cut and wilted the risk of getting stung passes.
