Did you ever think you could grow Macadamia nuts? A fun greenhouse or indoor project to try! Plants need long hot summer days, or simulation of such, to ripen. Mainly found in the Southern hemisphere naturally. Trees have a slow growth rate, but can reach 30 feet at maturity. Plants need plenty of water when they’re young.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

In our Northern Climate, these seeds are intended for a greenhouse, hobby use or your indoor experimenting. Will not survive outdoors!

SEED PRETREATMENT: Soak seeds in water for 24 hours.

STRATIFICATION: No stratification period is required.

SEEDING: Sow soaked seeds 3/4” deep. Seeds require soil temperatures between 25-30°C to germinate.   You may also de-husk nuts to speed germination. Water evenly and regularly.

GERMINATION: When all previously mentioned requirements are fulfilled, germination generally occurs in 30-120 days.
