Baptisia australis blooms along tall stems 3-4 feet tall, like a single, refined lupin. As a member of the Fabaceae (Pea) Family, they have very whimsical and ornamental foliage too. Plants will take a few seasons to develop before blooming, but they are truly worth the wait. Wild Indigo has been used for its many medicinal properties, along with as a dye plant, for many generations.
