Hidatsa Shield Pole Bean is a tall, super productive dry bean, developed over many generations by the North Dakota Hidatsa Nation. The beans are white with one side showing a shield in a dark tan colour, with speckles of maroon. Beans dry well on the plant without going moldy. Hidatsa Shield Pole Beans were added to the Slow Food Art of Taste in 2005.
