Bean Seeds, Bush - Öland Swedish Brown (Dry)
(Phaseolus vulgaris) 90 days to maturity.
Öland Swedish Brown Beans, a Scandinavian heirloom, are the colour of deep amber jewels. They date back to at least the late 1800’s, but likely much earlier, first grown on the island of Öland, off the coast of Sweden. They are the bean of choice for traditional Swedish sweet & sour stew. Öland Swedish Brown Beans hold together quite well when cooked, remaining firm with a rich nutty flavour. A great substitute in any of your favourite baked bean recipes.
