GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
TIMING: Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before final Spring frost date OR direct sow outdoors mid-Spring in a cold frame, protected from frost. Harden off seedlings before transplanting
GERMINATION: 30-60 days. Alternating the soil temperature during the day (20-25°C) and night (15-20°C) will aid germination. Keep soil moist.
SEEDING: Sow seeds on the soil surface, cover lightly with soil, tamp down. Darkness is needed for germination, cover to keep dark. Remove cover once seeds have sprouted.
GROWING: Full sun, tolerate partial shade. Prefers moist, acidic, well-draining soil. Will do best in a location sheltered from harsh winds with afternoon shade. Remove spent blooms promptly. Plants can grow 8-12 feel tall and 6-12 feet wide. Berries are not edible.
