(Quercus alba) Deciduous Zones 3-9
One of our absolute favourite trees, the White Oak stands strong and impressive. Its branches reach wide out horizontally from the trunk and from a strong canopy.
The leaves are blue green in the summer, turning to orange brown and red in the fall. The bark is grey and mostly smooth developing slight furrows as it matures.
Mature trees reach 60-80 feet and grow in a wide range of soils, though they prefer moist, well draining loamy soils.
