Dogwood Seeds, Kousa “Milky Way” - Heirloom Untreated NON-GMO From Canada

Dogwood Seeds, Kousa “Milky Way”

(Cornus kousa chinensis var. "Milky Way") Deciduous. Zones 4 - 8.

This easy to grow, beauty of a tree shows an abundance of stunning white flower bracts in mid-late spring, giving way to edible custard-like berries in the fall.

Dogwood flowers are deceiving in that are actually quite small, but are surrounded by the petal-like leaves, called bracts, that we think of as blooms. This little known food tree is fast growing and reaches 20 feet in height.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

- Soak Seeds 24 hrs. Follow with 150 days cold, moist stratification. For more information on stratification, check out our article "How To Stratify Tree Seeds".

*If you are doing the cold period in your fridge, please check on your seeds. 150 days is an estimate & they may sprout sooner.*

- Plant stratified seeds in pots or a nursery bed using standard potting soil. Heat mats are NOT required & can hinder germination!

- Protect young tree seedlings from slugs, cutworms & rodents. Slugs especially can eat primary leaves as soon as they come up, so be vigilant!
