Strawberry Plants - Kent
(Fragaria ananassa 'Kent') Perennial. Mid-season.Zone 3, zone 2 if heavily mulched grown under coldframes.
Kent is one of the best strawberries for Canadian growers! Its super-cold hardiness makes it available to so many micro-climates across the land.
A Kent strawberry is big, juicy and dark red right through to the centre. They are full of that scrumptious fresh strawberry flavour. Plant produce abundantly in mid-Summer.
*The Kent Strawberry is not RS resistant. Red Stele Disease, also know as Lanarkshire Disease is a fungal disease that affects strawberry plants. It can be brought about when strawberries are grown in heavy, saturated clay soils and when conditions are particularly wet and cool. In order to deter this disease, please plant your strawberry plants in well draining soil and in areas where water does not pool.*
