Strawberry Plants - Cabot
(Fragaria ananassa 'Cabot') Perennial. Zone 4. Late season.
Cabot Strawberries are known for their exceptional size; they are HUGE! And they haven't lost an ounce of their intense strawberry flavour.
Cabot is very easy to grow and as a late-season berry. These plants fruit generously and, taking their size into consideration, they could be considered the "grand finale" of your garden.
Another perk is that Cabot is Red Stele resistant.
Red Stele Disease, also know as Lanarkshire Disease, is a fungal disease that affects strawberry plants. It can be brought about when strawberries are grown in heavy, saturated clay soils and when conditions are particularly wet and cool. In order to deter this disease, please plant your strawberry plants in well draining soil.
