Cranberry Plants, Low Bush - Stevens
(Vaccinium macrocarpon) Deciduous. Zones 3-7.
Stevens is a cultivar of American Cranberry, a low-growing, creeping shrub with small glossy leaves, fuchsia-pink flowers and cheerful, bright red cranberries in Fall. The deep green leaves turn a brilliant red in Fall, making them a lovely ornamental ground cover as well as a food source.
Stevens produces an abundance of large, deep-red fruit with excellent flavour and unparalleled sweetness. Stevens cranberries are so naturally sweet that you won’t need to add any sweeteners to your recipes! Fruit matures by early October.
The cranberry is a superfood! They are super rich in antioxidants and high in vitamin C. They can be processed into juice, jams and jellies, or dried as a raisin substitute. A holiday meal isn’t complete without a festive dish of tart, red cranberry sauce!
