Wisteria Seeds - Chinese White Wisteria - (Wisteria Sinensis Alba)

 (Wisteria Sinensis Alba) Perennial. Zones 5 - 9. Flowering, deciduous vine.

A healthy, well established Wisteria vine is a coveted feature of many a garden. Mature Chinese Wisteria vines positively drip with long bunches of fragrant, white, sweetpea-like flowers. These flowers are total bee magnets!

The clusters of Chinese Wisteria are 6-12 inches long - shorter than Japanese Wisteria. Another interesting difference is that the searching tendrils of Chinese Wisteria grow counter clockwise, while those of Japanese Wisteria spiral clockwise! 

This beautiful, quick growing vine is easy to grow from seed! Wisteria needs something sturdy to grow on, like a trellis or pergola, as well as regular pruning. Do not allow it to grow on a tree, as it will strangle the tree. 

** Germination: 70 - 90% ** Soak seeds in water for 24hrs before planting.

 GROWING WISTERIA

Seed Treatment: Soak seeds 24 hours in room temperature water.

Sun & Soil: Full Sun ( 6 or more hours of direct sun per day). Wisteria loves a deep, moderately fertile, moist soil that does not dry excessively.

Watering: Regular watering until established. Once established, water only during dry periods.

Blooming: Wisteria normally blooms in early May. After the blooming period is over, tendrils begin to grow out of the main structures vines that you've secured to a fence or trellises ; )
