Dogwood flowers are deceiving in that are actually quite small, but are surrounded by the petal-like leaves, called bracts, that we think of as blooms.
North American Dogwood’s long-lasting “flowers” are a soft white and come on in the Spring, giving way to bright red berries in late Summer. Berries are poisonous to humans but attractive to many birds. North American Flowering Dogwood grows slowly and can reach 15 feet in height.
Growing: *Germination of 70-90%* North American Flowering Dogwood seeds require 90-120 days of cold stratification to germinate.
