(Gleditsia triacanthos inermis) Deciduous. Zones 4-9. Honey Locust is an old-time, native tree often seen lining the streets of the longest standing settlement towns. Honey Locust is a fabulous, dual purpose tree, bearing an abundance of beautifully fragrant flowers that bees LOVE and wielding anti-microbial properties that make it long lasting in terms of lumber, hand tools or fence posts.  

Grows quickly, more than 2 feet each year, reaching 100 feet.

*This is a Nitrogen fixing tree.*

Growing: *Germination of 70-90%* Honey Locust seeds have a hard coating on their shell and scarifying the seeds will help water to penetrate and improve germination. Soak at room temperature for 24 hours and then plant them in the Spring.
