Carmine Jewel will bestow the first ripe summer cherries in your orchard! Developed in 1999 at the University of Saskatchewan, this hybrid sour cherry is self-pollinating and highly productive. One tree will yield 20-30 lbs by its fifth year!
A beautiful ornamental edible, Carmine Jewel has abundant white Spring blossoms, dark green Summer foliage and deep crimson fruit, and stunning yellow leaves in Fall. Its dwarf bush stature makes harvest and maintenance easier than with typical cherry trees. Carmine Jewel is fairly pest and disease-resistant, so this beautiful cherry is a good choice for organic growers.
Carmine Jewel cherries are small, tart yet sweet, and nearly black when fully ripe. Deep red juice and rich flavour give remarkable colour to homemade ice cream, smoothies, and juice.
Dwarf Bush Cherry grows best in full sun and rich, well-drained sandy loam.
