Mexican Marigold is known for killing invasive weeds including couch grass, ground ivy and bindweed, it is also has high nematocidal, and insecticidal properties which are used to repel pests and insects. Mexican Marigold is a very tall and woody annual herb. Miniature yellow flowers will form 1 to 5 tubular flower heads per stem.

TIMING: Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before final frost date OR direct sow outdoors 2 weeks after risk of frost has passed. Harden off seedlings before transplanting outdoors, after frost.
GERMINATION: 7-10 days. Seeds require light to germinate. Soil temperatures of 25°C are best for germination. Keep soil moist
SEEDING: Sow seeds on the soils surface, tamp down gently. Space plants 12” apart.
GROWING: Full sun. Prefers dry soil. Plants may require support and protection from the wind, as they can grow very tall. An excellent companion to root vegetables. Plants may not flower in temperate zones, if they do, they’re mini pale yellow blooms.
HARVESTING: Leaves can be picked at any stage, dried and used in soups or stews. Many medicinal properties as well.
